Prioritize MVP
To ensure our MVP delivers the most value to users within our time and budget constraints, we're prioritizing features based on user insights. We'll be conducting surveys to gather user feedback and understand which features are most important to them. We have to go with the desktop view design because this is an add- on feature for the Communiti platform which is a desktop version that is mobile responsive.
Hypothesis
Managers have a harder time coming up with ideas for text contents over visual contents
Managers use LinkedIn to post professional posts and connect with other professionals in their related field.
Majority of managers use more than 1 platform to create content and they find it difficult to keep track of everything

Design Artifacts
From the user research, we were able to come up with the design artifacts to help the PM, designers as well as developers understand the product that we are building a little bit better. This helped the developers research OpenAI docs, create utility function templates for OpenAI requests more efficiently earlier in the process.
🌟 User Persona
Creating the persona helped us organize the user thought process and highlighting their challenges, pains, needs and goals to make sure our design will solve the problem that they are facing.
🌟 Empathy Mapping
Working alongside with another designer and our PM, in order for us to be on the same page and understand the user better, we collaborated to visualize and map out user behavior and actions towards various scenarios. Through this process, we identified a key user frustration: difficulty in formulating prompts for ChatGPT. Users struggled to know what to write to get the desired output, and whether ChatGPT would tailor the content to the intended audience. This later on helped us identify our parameters for the user input.
🌟 User Journey
From there, we were able to map out a User Journey. There are 3 different stages when it comes to creating a content. In order for us to design a better user experience while staying within the project scope, the User Journey helped us convergent and focus on designing the content creation stage due to the most friction user faces throughout the entire flow. Creating user journeys has been invaluable. It allows us to gain a deep understanding of user struggles, ensuring we design products that effectively address their needs.
🌟 Prioritizing Feature
Through ongoing communication with our PM and engineers, we collaboratively defined the project scope from a development perspective. This involved prioritizing features with the designer, the PM and engineers, ensuring alignment with the MVP goals. This iterative process allows us to deliver a user-centric design that's both detailed and feasible within project constraints.
🌟 User Flow
This user flow maps out the main flow for users to create and post content on LinkedIn. We'll leverage the prioritized features list, focusing on the essential functionalities for our MVP.
Wireframes and Testing
From the sketches we were able to do some user testings and found that most users think this layout is too cramped and confusing. This is where we work with the engineers to help them visualize and start to build the skeleton for our product.
Mid Fidelity
🌟 We opted for the vertical layout but recognized an opportunity to further enhance user experience. To achieve a cleaner and less cluttered design, we're focusing on refining the parameters for our AI model. This is crucial, as precise parameters ensure the best possible results and differentiate us from services like ChatGPT.
Update Design & Establish Design System
How do we know the design is successful?
Design System
🌟 Establishing a Design System for a seamless developer hand-off, this was a great opportunity for us designers to ask the devs questions for product refinement.
Since the Communiti Platform is still in its early stages. We followed the existing Color System of the platform and added extra shades and some other components that were not made yet. We also improved the typography structure as there were more features added to this phase of the design.
Final stages
🌟 Designers often have a keen eye for little details, and by collaborating togehter, they can help developers code more efficiently with accurate specifications in refining the product.
Pitch Night
🌟 Our team won first place for this phase of makeitMVP - Launch Academy
🌟 Judges were Ruben Harris, CEO of Career Karma, Rebeca Kaplan, founder of Sprintfolio, Chandler Malone, CEO of Path , Curtis Olivares, Founder of Parachute, and Paola S from pre.dev
🌟 I gained "Most Growth" Award
🌟 Key Learnings
Collaborations: PIVOT! PIVOT! Designers, developers and our PM working together and learned to communicate better to deliver our product on time due to the sudden change in team members on the dev's side. They have to delegate more tasks within 1 and a half week. We decided to minimize their tasks as much as possible and communicate clearly to see what falls within their scope and what doesn't.
New Tools: I learned how to use Jira and Confluence for the first time to help manage our tasks and project progress more efficiently.
Project Scoping: Dream big but do it in incremental steps.
